Pump discharging to the suction line of other pump

Pump discharging to the suction line of other pump

(OP)
My issued is the following.
What would be the problems that I have if a booster pump (1) convey seawater to the suction of other pumps (2). Existing a 1500 meters between both pumps. This pumps (2) suction from a storage tank. I ask for if it is possible that the discharge of the booster pump (1) goes to the storage tank. please let me know your comments.
There is a standard or something that could help me.

RE: Pump discharging to the suction line of other pump

a simple answer to your simple question, there are no problems, but on the other hand there may well be many.
suggest you sketch / draw your ideas, along with flowrates, pipe sizes, elevations and anything else you consider useful. this way you might be something back worth considering.

It is a capital mistake to theorise before one has data. Insensibly one begins to twist facts to suit theories, instead of theories to suit facts. (Sherlock Holmes - A Scandal in Bohemia.)

RE: Pump discharging to the suction line of other pump

I think what you're saying is that the second pump (2) has inlet from either the booster pump Or a storage tank and whether the booster pump will pump water to the storage tank.

Maybe yes, maybe no - it depends on the levels of each of the items, the head that exists at the place where the two join, but to stop it normally you would put a Non return valve in.

Much more data needed.

Remember - More details = better answers
Also: If you get a response it's polite to respond to it.
