Parts List Strikethrough text and New Part order

Parts List Strikethrough text and New Part order

Parts List Strikethrough text and New Part order

(OP)
Hi,

I have a drafting of a assembly with several parts. The part list of the items are created with settings->
Grow Direction-Up
Automatic Update-Selected
Sort on Update-Selected
Lock Parts List setup
Create New Rows as Locked-Selected
Allow Manual Rows-Selected
Locked Deleted Rows- Strikethrough-Selected

Also i use this part list to auto-number the assembly.

When i replace a component of the assembly , the new component comes with same part number as the replaced part and the part disappear from the part list , whereas what i require is the old part to be striken-out with qty 0 and the new part to be added at the end of the part list.

I refereed old posts-

but still cannot make it work.

Thanks,
Vipin

RE: Parts List Strikethrough text and New Part order

Hello Vipin,

Right-click and select to lock the parts list row before you replace the component and then "delete" the parts list row. You will get a strike-through cancelled item.

Hi Felicia ,

Thanks for your reply.
I have resolved the issue in a similar manner u mentioned.
Only difference is i am making a temporary copy of the part inside assembly before locking the row and replacing the part.
Then replacing one copy of the old part with new part (replace only 1 occurrence) and deleting the other copy of the old part.

The strikethrough will appear only when the part is deleted, not for replace (someone from Siemens told me so).
