Thank you in advance fro your time.
This is case in Federal land of Canada, We have water wells supplying water to Town for few decades. As part of disaster mitigation funding we are proposing to installed Diesel genset to supply power in emergency situations to water wells.
Federal regulation do not have clear indication of how far diesel tank shall be located form drinking water wells. Now we have been asked to comply with provincial guideline which has clear instruction on distance between water week and diesel tank. AS per provincial regulation distance between water well and diesel source shall be minimum 100 mt.
Could you please share your experience on clearance requirements between water well and diesel gneset.

Yes. We do have double wall tank for diesel tank. Owner forcing us Water Act which say 100m clearance require. However it do not specify distance with double wall tank.
That's why I asked question to forum to get more information from real scenario and solution to that.

(2) If the diversion of water from a water well is licensed for
municipal purposes, no person shall locate or drill the water well
closer than 100 metres from any thing listed in Column 1 of
Table 1

It states that you shall not locate or drill a water well for ... presumably from an existing Above ground storage tanks containing petroleum substances.
