If you have a number of surfaces that enclose a volume, you can sew them together to form a solid body.

if you have a single surface then you can Thicken it.

I have various surfaces. I created the solid. I used the command sew, but I had problem with tolerance.
Now is ok.

Yes, the default tolerance is quite tight, so usually making that greater helps the sew.
