Creep

Creep

(OP)
Dear friends,

I'm trying to model a beam with both ends restrained to rotation and displacement. The only applied load is the shrinkage. I use time-dependent properties to model this effect, and the results are correct. I get an axial load of E•A•e (e=shrinkage). But when I want to obtain the effect of creep in the same model, the result is not E•A•e/(1+creep). Could anyone help me?

Thanks in advance

Regards

RE: Creep

Hi, im currently using material time-dependent properties in SAP2000V17.3. I tried modeling your problem and got correct results. I think the problem might be that you are not considering the aging coefficient χ. The equation should be E*A*e/(1+χ*Creep). χ may be estimated as (√t0)/(1+√t0), as taken form A.Ghali book which is referenced on SAP´s wiki. t0 is the time in days when loading is applied. Are you using time dependent stiffness?
