(OP)
Hi guys,
since I would like to improve my knowledge in fire pumps design, in particular the design of P&ID and plant layout using NFPA 20. I start to read directly the code, but I need something more "narrative" than this, because I need to learn also some basis. Do you have some advice for me?
Thank you everyone

Check out the following NFPA publications.
NFPA 20 handbook
NFPA 25 handbook
NFPA Fire Protection handbook
This will set you back about $450 US. The 20 and 25 handbooks will give you the code section and then addition info the committee was thinking when they wrote the section and or additional info. The fire protection handbook will give you the technical info not only on fire pumps but many fire protection topics and is a great resource.
The Chubb seminar listed will give you the hands on experience of testing with an overview of fire pumps with live demos of the equipment. Controllers, drives and pumps are overviewed.

Find a good fire sprinkler company that knows pumps and have them train you
