Hi All

I have problems in dealing with the parts that i have to import in Solidworks , that are meshed , and deformed , and also are imported into solidworks with a mesh , the result is a part with a lot of facets and small lines ,

and the problem will be that the surfaces are not straight and have angles , not possible to do anything with it , is there a suggestion or solution for this ?

RE: Problem in importing of the results of a deformation from a forming software in * .igs * format

This is a common problem when going from scan data or simulation data back into CAD. In SWx you have 2 options: Scan23D or recreate the geometry using the IGS as a guide.

On my blog there are 4 examples of ways to use data like this. They are mainly using Catia however these methodologies should be instructive.

I hope this helps.
