I need the required the following spec for butterfly valve but my vendor is providing the other alternative, can any one help me to decide should i consider vendor alternative.


Required : BODY MATERIAL = CI, Alternate: Body: ductile Cast iron (Epoxy coated).

Required : TRIM DISC = NI; Alternate: Disc: Aluminum bronze

Required : STEM AND DISC PINS = MONEL; Alternate: Stem and disc pin : 17-4PH material

Required : SEAT = BUNA-N, Alternate: Seats: EPDM seats

No. What you need to know is if the alternate is suitable for your service, but you have not provided any details of your service, so nobody can answer you.

BigInch, thank you very much for your responce. well we need to use this butterfly valve for Sear water service.
I thought that the Disc of "Aluminium Bronze" material is not suitable for sea water service.
