nx 7.5 overiding dim in drawing
nx 7.5 overiding dim in drawing
(OP)
I made a line and dimension of it (length), in drawing
Tried all trickery, but cannot manually override that dimension, while other (made from 3D-math) can (edit>annot>text>...)
How I can override dim made on the line I added?
Thanks

Just so you know, the reason I believe you are having this problem is because you are using SKETCH CURVE to add a line. If this is intended that is fine. But if you were just looking to add a line, find Simple curves or another line function other than SKETCH CURVE and when you place dimensions it will not make them DRIVING.
RE: nx 7.5 overiding dim in drawing
it does not work. I work in nx7.5
Click on inferred dimension
menu comes on the screen
select the line
locate dimension
click on dim
the same menu comes back
click on driving to change to driving on non-driving
in either case no change manually works.
If I do it on the dimension between two lines created by the NX it all works

This is the step you are missing before locating dimension you need to turn off driving. It is in the toolbar Then place your dimension
locate dimension
click on dim
the same menu comes back
click on driving to change to driving on non-driving
in either case no change manually works.

RE: nx 7.5 overiding dim in drawing
Click on dim command, drag around dim, but do not make another click to place it
inferred dimensions icon (box) comes on the screen
move cursor toward the icon (box) and make "driving" box to grayed out (non-red) by click on it
NOW place dim by the second click with a mouse.
Thanks guys

Please. Get over your evangelical self and step down from your pulpit. Just as you don't see the need for my response, I don't see the need for yours. But, since you tipped your hat first and chose to critique my response out of several, as you inexplicably do with users from time to time, please allow me to retort....
First off, where did I ever allude to a problem? I simply offered what I'd look at doing to resolve his issue on a permanent basis. I'm in a help forum - I probably should have known better than to resort to such an act of travesty. Again, thanks for picking me out of the masses to critique my response - I really appreciate your consideration by casting doubt on my response only - thanks a bunch, PAL! I'm sure Nikon will be awaiting more of my help in the future as a result of your forward thinking, consideration and choice of words.
Secondly - hack job, huh? Interesting choice of words, especially when the response that receives your almighty blessing more or less says the same thing in the last paragraph. What exactly are simple curves, oh great one? Since you doubt my abilities in reading comprehension ("The OP has been given a detailed..."...gee, thanks JOHN - what a REAL HELP you are - it doesn't stop with your endless consideration), let me point out to what I'm referring since I'm not sure it's me that has the reading comprehension issue:
No offense to Kenja824 intended - he was only trying to HELP, just as I was, albeit in a different and obviously shunned manner (my posts, not Kenja's). Again, I'm SORRY for trying to do that and not personally calling you up to see if my response met with your opinion or whatever BS prompted your smarmy response.
Oh, and who exactly did the hack job programming leaving this horrible hack job solution available to us, free to use it (with or without Baker Almighty's approval) from NX7.5 up to NX9 (at least)?
