Adhesive Anchor design
Adhesive Anchor design
(OP)
So please correct or confirm my understanding in this reggards.
We can either use ASD or Strength Design (SD)-aci 318 for Anchor design?
Does Profis ASD checks all the checks done by Profis SD method?
Shall I expect same results?
Also, for Profis ASD, I put the ASD loads, Am I right to multiply ASD loads by 1.48 to get correct load input for Profis SD method?
Thank you for your direction. I am stuck here.

RE: Adhesive Anchor design
IBC 2012 (and earlier) had ASD design provisions. IBC 2015 appears to have deleted those provisions.
Even in states governed by IBC 2012 and earlier the state building code may have removed the ASD provisions. Even if they still have the ASD provisions they couldn't be used with any earthquake loads.
The standard in the industry in the US is now LRFD.

RE: Adhesive Anchor design
My question is not about what method legally is allowed to be used, my question is about if Profis Anchor, ASD method checks all the edge distance, pull out, break through, etc. as well as Profis Anchor SD method?
And if you have ASD loads and decide to use Profis Anchor SD method how would you convert the available ASD load into loads that can be plug for Profis Anchor Strength Method?
RE: Adhesive Anchor design
If you don't know, and have room to be conservative, apply a load factor of 1.6 to everything.
Otherwise, you'll have to apply some further engineering judgement.
(Sorry, I can't help with your Profis specific questions)
