Market Price Comparison between A706/A615 Rebars...

(OP)

Hello,

Can I get info on the price comparison between A706 and A615?
I wonder how much the reinforcement costs are different according to A706/A615 of #4/#5 and #8/#10 respectively.

Thanks!

RE: Market Price Comparison between A706/A615 Rebars...

I cannot speak to price nation wide, but I recently had a project in South Carolina. A706 was available due to SCDOT requiring it on their projects. Costwise the contractor said it would be about $20 extra per truckload, so it was an easy decision versus mixing rebar types on the project.

I think ACI is bigoted and won't let you mix grades of rebar.

I don't trust the rebar installers to pay attention to different grades either. Same goes for carpenter's when you're specifying different grades of lumber from the same species.
