Rotating a part

Hi
Can any one tell me how can I rotate a component in Ansys.
I could not rotate(say 45degrees about X-axis) an imported file(IGES).I could do it when i create any thing in Ansys.

RE: Rotating a part
2. active the coordinate system (command: csys)
3. rotate nodal coordinate system into the coordinate system (command: nrotat)
4. check (commands: /psymb,ndir,1 ; nplot)
RE: Rotating a part
Can i do a impact analysis using Ansys.I want to apply a large force acting for small amount of time and next second no force and agin repeating the steps along.Atleast the first step.
Thanks
RE: Rotating a part
If you didn't defeature, then follow the procedure given by ghx.
bhava9, I think you might need LS-DYNA to do an impact analysis.

I am assuming that it is the COMPONENT (comprised of volumes, areas, lines, kp) which requires rotating in space by an angle of 45 degrees (say). In ghx's reply I believe he /she was confusing how to rotate a COMPONENT with how to ROTATE NODES INTO A COORDINATES SYSTEM, which is how he/she describes it appropriately. If you need to rotate a COMPONENT (geometry) please see Thread569-114008. Rotating nodes is a similar approach only using a different #GEN command. Sorry to be picky, but hopefully it will aid people in the future!
