How to create a flat view of a part in a drawing

How to create a flat view of a part in a drawing

How to create a flat view of a part in a drawing

(OP)
Hi,

I've created a curved part by:
1. Wave linking in the mating surface from my other part.
2. Creating a flat sketch.
3. Wrapping the curves onto my cylindrical surface.
4. Using through curves to create a sheet.
5. Thickened sheet.

So how can I take that part, and show it flattened in a drawing view. I've attached a picture to show my part. Thanks!

You say that you've already created the 'flat sketch', correct? Why not just show that sketch as your Drawing view?

Hi John,

I guess the reason I wanted to use my solid was because I wanted a side view to show the thickness. Dumb question, how do I use my sketch from modeler in drafting as my flat view?

Thanks

OK, use your sketch to create a 'flat solid' of correct thickness and show that 'model' on your drawing.

Last dumb question, (I hope). Our standard calls for one solid body in the model reference set, and that's the "wrapped" solid". So how do I handle the "flat solid"? A reference set that I use in my drawing view? I'm still a novice with the whole reference set thing.
