mono-slope versus flat for 7-10 wind envelope procedure

(OP)
Question: at what lower value of pitch does a roof cease to be properly considered as a mono-slope roof, and instead be considered a flat one in a wind context? Chapter 28 of ASCE 7-10 (page 239) includes a grey box "User Note" that establishes that the Envelope Procedure/Part 1 is for buildings with flat, gable or hip roof. Mono-slope is not included. I have a roof with 1.19 degree slope (0.25:12 pitch), one-way. I am inclined to consider this to be a flat roof, but would like this cleared up. I did not find anything in the definitions in chapter 26. Thx.

RE: mono-slope versus flat for 7-10 wind envelope procedure

If you check monoslope roofs, the table is for theta less than or equal to 45 degrees. It also shows that theta may range from zero to 45 degrees. Your roof could be considered either way...as a monoslope roof or flat, since the 1/4" per foot slope is primarily for drainage.
