part winding motor testing

part winding motor testing

(OP)
I received a complaint of a faulty part winding motor.

well, the motor i am dealing with has 6 terminals and its diagram is attached. i checked the winding terminals with a multi-meter and i found out that there was no connectivity between terminals 1 and 2 and I gave the report that that winding has broken.

So, i want to ask that based on the diagram, is my conclusion correct or not??

and why would you be needing that ???

RE: part winding motor testing

Well for starters, that looks more like a diagram for a consequent pole motor than a part winding start motor.

well thanks for correcting me
but still my concern is unsolved :)

RE: part winding motor testing

If you are sure that the internal connection of your PWS winding corresponds to the displayed diagram ( so called "extended delta" pws connection), then the answer is so obvious.
