Cable good or not

Cable good or not

RE: Cable good or not

Hi tem1234,
the only way I know is to recheck the cable according to its production standards.

RE: Cable good or not

I don't think you could bend a stranded cable that big to that small a radius without opening the outer strands a little, as shown.

... speaking just from a mechanical perspective; there may be some magical way to compress the inner strands of which I am not aware.

RE: Cable good or not

are you concerned with the strands spreading or with the damage to a few strands? That is the small nicks in three strands?

It was about the damage to the strands. It's a small nick, but it happen often and i don't know any standard that help to determine if it's ok or not, specially with the outer strands open. In this case, the outer strand aren't open enough to cause problem, but many time it happen and we don't have any lotterature about it.

Thanks
