Long Stroke LInear Electric Actuators

Long Stroke LInear Electric Actuators

I'm involved in a project where the discharge lines of my WI pumps are to be retrofitted with globe valves - the intent is to use pneumatic actuators to control the valves(10 inch stroke) requiring additional new air packages to be procured. I'd like to try and simplify things, asking if electric actuators could be used instead, but the response to my challenge has been a 'bit flakey' to say the least. I've done my own research, looking through valve actuator manufacturer websites and I think the real answer to my challenge is that electric linear actuators are only currently available with maximum stroke lengths of up to 6 inches.

I'm pretty sure that I've answered my own question, but just in case, does anyone who is experienced in valve selection and application know of suppliers of linear electric actuators with a stroke length of 10 inches?

Thanks in advance for any and all responses.

Nook Industries, amongst others.

Thanks btrueblood, but I'm going to be restricted to using equipment that is designed and manufactured for oil and gas use, and in this case specifically, water injection pumps, using vendors that are internationally recognised such as Rotork - as far as I can tell, their linear actuators are limited to a stroke of 6 inches. I was just wondering if there were other vendors of this stature who could meet this need

RE: Long Stroke LInear Electric Actuators

What type of globe valve are you automating? A control style globe valve like a Fisher? Or are you doing a cast steel globe valve like a Crane/Powell/Velan?
