Quality Assurance Issue

Quality Assurance Issue

Quality Assurance Issue

(OP)
Studying the API 6 QA manual in comparison with ISO 9000;REV 2000,  it is apparent that a manufacturing company may design & manufacture a pipeline ball valve to the exact requirements a stipulated by the API 6D spec. Why is it then so important to have the API monogram on a product for use in pipeline services, if the API QA is simply a QA set of procedures like ISO?

RE: Quality Assurance Issue

The API monogram requires conformance to API Q1 quality requirements which are similar to but go beyond the requirements of ISO 9001:1994.
