NX10 Drafting - Feature Parameters and mirrored/patterned holes

NX10 Drafting - Feature Parameters and mirrored/patterned holes

NX10 Drafting - Feature Parameters and mirrored/patterned holes

(OP)
I just finished a large assembly, about 68 parts not including fasteners. Each part with a convoluted mile long feature list. Now it's time to make drawings.

Well, God, I wish I did things differently from the start. I used the default NX part file for each part, big mistake. Now I have to change about 30 drafting preferencesin each part file before i can start drawing.

Now I find out I can't use the "Feature Parameters" button to generate hole callouts because over half of my holes are patterned, mirrored or mirrors of mirrors. shame on me for using the tools they taught us in Design Essentials.

It feels like NX is fighting me every step of the way. And of course there is the weekly crash that I never see coming

RE: NX10 Drafting - Feature Parameters and mirrored/patterned holes

Set up a drawing template with the settings that you want. Now you can use the "master model" drawing method; add your model as a component to the drawing file, the drafting settings that you defined in the template will be used.

PhoeNX has some really useful video tutorials on setting up a drawing template:
