Can't install Draftsight on Windows 7

Can't install Draftsight on Windows 7

(OP)
I have used Autocad for many years and about 6-7 years ago I installed Draftsight also. I was using Windows XP at the time but have since moved to Windows 7 about four years ago. I continue to use Autocad 2008 but wanted to download and install Draftsight because it will run here and on my Linux Mint system. It installed perfectly there but I can't install it on Win7. I have attache a jpg of the error message. All help is greatly appreciated.

I Googled and saw this problem and a solution by Goober Dave. I wanted to share it here but that thread is closed. It was posted in Oct 2014. I copied it here for others to see:

And finally, I got it solved on my own today. I ran through the Windows registry and delete all occurrences of DraftSight and Dassault that were left in there from a previous version install. It was a 20-minute pain but it's done.
Best to you,

Goober Dave
