Hi all me and my autistic son have just received our baldor bpp12561 motor but we have no knowledge Of power supply's or speed control , could anyone please help with a ac outlet to motor solution including speed controle any information or links to parts would be most helpful cheers

That motor needs a DC speed controller. It will take 120VAC and switching rectify it to various DC voltages to control the motor.

Go to ebay and scope out "180VDC speed controllers".

Hi thank you for that I have found a speed controle not a problem , could I possibly use a laptop power supply as were in the UK on 240v could this work or would we need to make the supply with parts sourced ?

Not a chance. A laptop supply is utterly unacceptable for too many ways to list.

I'm just planning to buy the Baldor motor too, but I compare it with WEG and Leeson. Not sure yet..
Do you have any other problems?

Hi I don't have any problems as yet other than sourcing a power supply the speed controle I have found says needs a 220 ac power input was wondering if a standard 220 v ac supply would work ?
