JAcking system on Floating Roof Tank

JAcking system on Floating Roof Tank

JAcking system on Floating Roof Tank

(OP)
Good morning Gents,

It is common for EFRT which is built by using conventional method (shell lifted by crane from shell course#1) that the floating roof is built in parallel with shell courses after completion bottom plate and shell course #1.

How about in jacking system ? I think we have to wait to build the floating roof till all shell are completed erected and welded.

I agree that jacking system will eliminate working at height. But in tank construction something that can be done in parallel will contribute significant effect in squeezing the overall schedule. Also we need a bigger crane to built the roof.

Is there any study that jacking system in overall (safety, schedule and cost) is better than conventional method ?

Your comments is highly appreciated.

Syah
