Hi All
I have to select a C4 stainless steel from a material library ,where the names are given as metalurgic compositions , such as X10Cr13- blabla or DIN or JIS or AISI , and thir min or maximum temperature, how do I know which is the C4 ?
also if you introduce a reference about this to me , I will be thankfull

RE: C4 Stainless steel other names
the only uses of C4 that I know of (other than the explosive) are a grade of plain carbon steel, the Ni-Mo-Cr grade, and using this as a finish designation.
It could be an old cast grade designation, but I can't find it.

2.4610
DIN NiMo 16 Cr 16 Ti
EN NiMo16Cr16Ti
ASTM Alloy C-4

But if 2.4610 is the typen of alloy that you are looking for then the original C-4 is UNS N06455.
This is a Ni based Ni-Mo-Cr grade (Hastelloy C-4).
This alloy has largely been replaced in service by C-22 (N06022). They are covered by the same ASTM/ASME specs.
