RE: join curve in nx

hi Naveen,
Which NX version are you on? Use command finder for JOIN.
Else you can get it from INSERT/DERIVED CURVE/JOIN (NX9)...
Best Regards
Kapil

RE: join curve in nx

Naveen,
Enter join curve in the command finder and you should get what you need
The command finder really helps in a situation like yours, even if you don't know the exact name of the command
The command finder is located within the "help" pull-down

I know the location and how to use this command, but i don't know where it is applicable?

RE: join curve in nx

Hi Naveen,
You can use it for joining multiple single segment edges in a single curve (for example if you want to use the edges of a face for some surfacing operation let us say sweep etc.). Sometimes this single entity is used for trimming surfaces (either by extending the curve extents or used as it is)
You can also usee this single joined curve for helping you get a new smooth surve (using FIT CURVE).

RE: join curve in nx

I think that some other cad system require a single object ( a single curve ) is required to perform some features. ( Catia ?)
In NX this is NOT required on , to my knowledge, ANY feature. ( Yes, it was some 25 ears ago.)
Thus, my perception, the Join Curve feature is mainly used by people with a heritage in other cad systems who think that the same rules apply in NX.
the exception could be if/ when one has very many curves/edges to select , repeatedly the same .

Regards,
Tomas
