SS flange shield for CS line

SS flange shield for CS line

SS flange shield for CS line

(OP)
Hi,

I'm a fresh Mechanical Eng grad working now as a Material Eng, I am still trying to familiarize myself with the field and recently encountered a stumbling block in my current project.

So I'm working on a TBE for Flange Shields and both my vendors offered me a SS flange shield for our CS lined flange. I'm wondering if this is acceptable since I rejected their initial offer but the alternative they gave is of fabric material which doesn't fit our pressure requirement. So basically my question is, are SS flange shields acceptable for CS lines or should I start looking for new bidders?
