(OP)
Hi there, returning to these excellent forums after a long hiatus and was hoping for some more helpful advice. Has anyone used uplift bearings to replace elastomeric bearings in a bearing replacement scheme? The reason I am looking at it is that we presently have arrestor bars cast into a PT deck/ballast wall which are not in a good condition. We would like to avoid drilling into the PT deck ends to install new bars to provide uplift resistance at the deck ends.

RE: special uplift bearings

I'm not sure about details of it, but you'd better check out chapter 26 of Bridge Engineering Handbook

Cheers
