Dynamic non linear impact analysis ABAQUS or LS DYNA

(OP)
Hi,

Could someone help me with the steps for doing non linear dynamic impact analysis for user defined materials in Abaqus or LS dyna. I would really appreciate it if you guys could help, since my professor asked me to this for a capstone project that I am doing.

Thank You and sorry for any inconvenience :)

RE: Dynamic non linear impact analysis ABAQUS or LS DYNA

Are you familiar with the finite element method? Have you performed linear and, more importantly in this context, non-linear analyses? If the answer is "No" to either of those questions, you should know that it is going to take a while to get the job done (unless you are one of those who guys who has coded his own element or solver or something!)

RE: Dynamic non linear impact analysis ABAQUS or LS DYNA

Hi
I don't want to be negative but this sounds like a student posting. If so, it may be a good idea to start with the forum rules regarding those.

Best Regards

Thomas
