Free air cooling
Free air cooling
(OP)
Hi there i am a newbie to the forum. i have a project in a dairy plant for a evaporator drying plant that requires some cooling to the building that the plant is contained in to leave it comfortable for process workers. I have been supplied with the loads that the plant will generate (total of 254Kw) and the building has a volume of 6350m3, ambient temperature max 25°c and target temperature in the building of max 35°c. My question is how do i work out the require air changes per hour to achieve the cooling required. Thanks and waiting for your help!

RE: Free air cooling
As a starting point, you need to look at the enthalpy change from your air intake to your air discharge, this will allow you to work out the AC/h.
You need to know humidity values as well as temperatures, get to know and love your psychrometric charts, this is a great application for their use.
RE: Free air cooling
If worker comfort is the only concern, spot coolers may be an option.
