step file import scaling problem

step file import scaling problem

step file import scaling problem

(OP)
I translate two files to step file individually using NX. When these two step file are imported together by using Spinfire viewer, the size of the geometry in one part is scaled and it is much larger than the other one. These two parts are no longer matched. However I imported these two step file into NX to double check, everything is fine and no scale problem.

RE: step file import scaling problem

My guess is that the one part that gets scaled is in inches and is scaled by a factor of 25.4 into the translated part.
I assume the other part is in millimeters.

The problem is there are some metric component in a inch assembly. After I suppress these metric component, the files are good to be imported.

RE: step file import scaling problem

(OP)
I just imported one assembly step file to spinfire professional, every component was scale down by 25.4. In the source file of this step file, the unit are mixed with metric and inch.
In the spinfire software, there is no place to check what is the unit of the file.
Anybody knows how to fix this problem? Thank you
