Lane Loads in Space Gass

Lane Loads in Space Gass

Lane Loads in Space Gass

(OP)
Hi,
I have been looking at the Space Gass software as a replacement option for my current analysis package.

One big thing I have not been able to figure out in using the trial version is how to do lane loads (for bridge) when modelling a grillage.

Does anyone know an easy way to do this as the area load option does not seem to be flexible enough to allow you move a lane load around on a grillage as it only seems to work with areas defined by grillage elements.

Thanks in advance
Peter

RE: Lane Loads in Space Gass

Sorry I don't do much work with lane loads (bridges), but I personally think Spacegass' area load generator needs some work.

I don't like the fact that when you put in an area load it automatically stores the load as line loads on the supporting members. Therefore you have no way of changing the pressure load or even viewing the original pressure without back-calculation.
