SCF for plate with hole under pure shear loading

SCF for plate with hole under pure shear loading

Could some body help on finding the stress concentration factor for plate with hole under pure shear loading.

RE: SCF for plate with hole under pure shear loading

it's 4 isn't it ? ('cause pure shear is equal tension/compression ... so that at the Kt = 3 location for the tension load the compression has a Kt of -1, which'd make it add to the tension.

another day in paradise, or is paradise one day closer ?

RE: SCF for plate with hole under pure shear loading

rb1957 is correct, Kt = 4 for shear of circular hole in an infinite plate (Peterson)
