Automatic centerline

Automatic centerline

Automatic centerline

(OP)
Hello everyone,

I'm looking for setting for "automatic centerline" in drafting, but I can't find it. I looked in preferences -> drafting and preferences -> View but there aren't any setting about it. When I click Center mark, I can set everything, but this setting don't apply to automatic centerline. There is only one setting "cylindrical extension" which does nothing.

I know there is an option in customer default - drafting - general - standard - customize standard - centerline - general, but its only work after restart NX and in master model drafting. In non master model it doesn't work.

There is one more problem with "automatic centerline" - when I have 2 holes or threads on opposite side of plate, NX create 1 centerline through from one side of plate to another. Is there any way to fix this?

I'm using NX 8.5.3 MP09.

With best regards
Michael

RE: Automatic centerline

i must admit that i don't understand what the question is.
You need / want a setting that you cannot find ?

Hello everyone.

One more - I'm looking for setting to "automatic centerline" in drafting in "non-master model" part. Part create with template "model-plain-mm". In attachment is setting for "center mark" and similar settings should be for "automatic centerline", but when You choose this command there is only one option - 2nd attachment.

When You using master model for drafting the setting are in customer defaults in tab responsible for settings for "center mark" (link 3). So in my opinion the same setting should be for first example (non master model) or somewhere else. My question is - Where to search for them?

With best regards
Michael

RE: Automatic centerline

I think i understand what it is you are saying.
: There is no "Preferences - Centerline / Center mark"
- The preferences - Annotation- symbols- centerline only sets the line thickness in the symbol, not the size of the respective piece.

But, i played around with it, it turns out that as soon as you have changed the customer defaults and started a new session, the new settings are in place, IF,
- you press the Reset button on the Center mark dialog.

( this has nothing to do with master model or not.)

Tomas

Exactly that's I'm saying. If You wanna change "automatic centerline" You have to change customer defaults. If You wanna change "center mark", You can just click command and the settings are available.
Tomorrow I will test how changes in customer default apply to new model. There is one problem with "automatic centerline" - it create one centerline if You have two holes in line for example two threads on opposite side of plate.

Thanks for Your help Tomas.

With best regards
Michael
