Coating A36 Steel for corrosion resistance

Coating A36 Steel for corrosion resistance

(OP)
I am designing a tank that has to be filled with sulfuric acid (7% in water)
The tank will be made with A36 steel sheet 1/8”

Then I need to coat the inner surface of the tank.
Can you recommend a material for the inner coating? I am looking for something that can be applied with a brush. Maybe several layers of it

The tank is 0,40x0,40x5 m – open top

RE: Coating A36 Steel for corrosion resistance

I would not use A36 steel for this application. Whatever coating you put on the inside will eventually fail and then the shell will fail....quickly.

If you must use mild steel, then line the tank with fiberglass (chopped and blown variety). Expensive

Ron: thanks.
What is "chopped and blown variety"?

RE: Coating A36 Steel for corrosion resistance

It is short, chopped glass fibers in a resin matrix that is applied by spraying onto the surface, as compared to sheets of glass fiber fabric saturated with resin then laid onto the surface.

MATERIAL SA-283 why not buy fiberglass tank storage? I think it is more economical is a small tank

Because is a special designed process tank not just a storage tank. The tank has pulleys and pulleys supports inside

What if I use several layers of polyester resin?
