lift shaft roof slab detail (waterproofing)

lift shaft roof slab detail (waterproofing)

Hallo guys

I wonder what is the best detail for a lift shaft roof slab
should you provide the slope in the concrete or screed?
where at best should you provide the water proofing?
first of all I don't like the Architects required upstands.
Why shall I run this danger if the spout blocks and pond the water on the roof?

RE: lift shaft roof slab detail (waterproofing)

Provide the slope in the slab. A lift shaft is of limited size, so it is simple to accomplish. As to making sure the water has a way to escape, architects are often not accomplished drainage designers.

@hokie: you mean directly in the concrete and not in the screed?
I definitely prefer to slope the concrete directly

RE: lift shaft roof slab detail (waterproofing)

Yes, that is what I mean.

i agree but why do the most engineers and actually all Architects like to operate in such cases with screed?

RE: lift shaft roof slab detail (waterproofing)

That is not my experience. Why two operations when one will suffice?
