What happening in RT film

What happening in RT film

RE: What happening in RT film

The four vertical lines look like the test strips (proof wires) placed between the film and target to prove the penetration of the xrays.

Is that what you are questioning?

RE: What happening in RT film

(OP)
racookpe1978, I mean whole film straight line between different density: 0 and 1B parts

RE: What happening in RT film

nkvon,
Not sure how to put this politely but if you don't have a clue about radiography - stay away !!!
The major change in density is due to film overlap,

DD

RE: What happening in RT film

Oh. By the way, it appears you have a tungsten tip left inside the weld.

RE: What happening in RT film

I always thought that was a good thing, as Tungsten has higher mechanical properties than steel... So you're actually improving your connection (I know the interwebz are bad for transitting sarcasm, but I'm giving it a try whatsoever)

RE: What happening in RT film

Well, the tungsten is heavier than the steel, so inclusion like that always adds weight to the final welded assembly. That's a bad thing, since the extra weight might over-stress the pipe supports and foundations.

RE: What happening in RT film

At least the crack initiator would already be known. No need to look elsewhere on the weld for the start of the crack.
