See attached screenshot.

I found it to be very un-intuitive, and I never saw this symbol before, so I didn't recognize it as being for a skip/staggered/intermittent weld (or intercalary as you say, which is also a new term for me).

I believe I had to search the internet for quite some time before I found the solution. I had typed out a thread post just like yours when I thought of a new term to search, I forget what, which gave me the answer.
