King Post Truss Design to EC5

King Post Truss Design to EC5

King Post Truss Design to EC5

(OP)
Hello there,

The project I am currently working on involves a king-post truss in the roof which I am supposed to design to EC5. Any kind of assistance like where I could find information on truss design to EC5 would be very useful.

Thank you

RE: King Post Truss Design to EC5

I do not know what would be so special about the design. US codes here too.

A king post truss just has one central vertical, a top and bottom chord, and no diagonals. The bottom chord becomes a simple beam with a point load in the middle. The rafters transfer their loads to the center post, or king post as it is called.
