Inergen cylinder stored outside of substation building (blast resilient)

Inergen cylinder stored outside of substation building (blast resilient)

(OP)
Hi All,

Due to limited space in the substation building, the inergen cylinder will be stored in a yard which is attached to the building. The yard will have fence and shelter to protect the cylinder from sun radiation, rain, etc.

As per studies, the substation building is a blast resilient building.
Thus, I think it is not recommended as cylinder should become projectile in case of any blast.

Is there any reference that I can refer to on the requirement of installing external equipment ( in this case cylinders) outside of the blast resilient building.

Thank you

I guess the Inergen supplier could speak to contents.

As for cylinders, Pressurized cylinders are the domain of the Department of Transportation.

I would start with them.

Have you checked with clean agent manufacture , to see if they can be stored outside
