Hi all,

if I want to get the overall mass of a modeled structure in SAP2K like a portal frame, should I add up joint masses/frame masses after completion of analysis or there's other way?

Peace

RE: total mass of structure

Add the joints vertical reactions and divide by gravity acceleration

RE: total mass of structure

My post above relates to dead load case

Thanks mate,

So if I want to get mass per unit length along the longitudinal length of a beam, I do as:

Area of beam (width*height)m2 * mass per unit length (kg/m3) which is defined in the material property definition = and I get the mass per length of beam

right?
