Hello,

i would like to know that does asme b31.3 wall thickness equation can be valid to calculate tubing wall thickness (as heat exchanger tubing)

thank you in advance

RE: ASME B31.3 valid with tubes wall thickness??

Tubing; yes. Bit I guess it will depend on the application. HEX tubing would fall under VIII-1, process or instrument tubing would fall under B31.3.

If it's very thin wall tubing the D/t limit of 100 in B31.3 might be a problem .... applies to sif's and branch conn calcs etc.
