Quench Water Properties on Steel Hardening

Quench Water Properties on Steel Hardening

(OP)
Hi all,

Is anyone able to point me in the direction of any good references relating to properties of quench water employed to harden steels? Obviously there's a few bits and pieces on temperature, but we're looking more for anything relating to water cleanliness or salt concentration (not as in a brine, but as in using regular urban water supply versus using purified or filtered water).

Thanks for any help.
