Too much Ale adaptive meshing

Too much Ale adaptive meshing

(OP)
Hello together,

I'm simulation a forming process in Abaqus Explicit. To avoid element distortion I used Ale adaptive meshing. Well now i did a DOE and it showed, that a higher Ale-frequency results in a higher forming force. Well if the frequency is higher, the elements are less distorted and my solution is more accurate? is this right? or can excessive Ale-adaption of the mesh lead to worse results? I looked up in the abaqus documentation, but there is no note that the accuracy of the analyses decreases with an higher Ale-frequency. I'm just not sure ;) Can anyone tell me if it is a problem (despite the higher computational cost) to increase the Ale-frequency? Or may be a tip where i can read about this. Or any Idea which result i've to look at to verify that my simulation does still the right thing even with such a high frequency?

Thanks in advance

Marko
