Beam Insertion Point

Beam Insertion Point

(OP)
Hi,

Long time viewer of the forum, registered today as I cant figure a problem out with STAAD.

We have used staad as a company for years creating basic wireframe models (like shipping containers). Luckily due to their size and safety factors this has never been a problem but me being as I am i would like to know how to properly do it.

When we create the model STAAD automatically chooses the beam insertion point (centre). I would like to know if it is possible to specify another insertion point such as Top centre etc.

Hope someone out there can help!

Thanks
Lefty.

RE: Beam Insertion Point

Nope, the neutral axis is what it uses. You could shift by using OFFSET but that can get pretty tedious. I also question the value of doing that.
