Propagating a Product

Propagating a Product

Propagating a Product

(OP)
At my company we are currently propagating parts through the following process:

1. Under the Main_Product select copy a Sub_product to replicate.
2. Copy and Paste - Break Link this product into the Main_Product
3. Select all the components in the existing Sub_Product that need to change
4. Copy and Paste - Break Link these parts into Sub_Product
5. Replace each of the original parts with the copied parts (broken links)
6. Right Click on each of the pasted components and Define Contextual Links.
7. Make changes that need to be made to the propagated product.
8. Update.

Is it possible to automate steps 3, 4, 5 or am I wasting my time?
