Water uplift pressure where single footing system is adopted
Water uplift pressure where single footing system is adopted
(OP)
Hi guys,
When designing a single footing shall I consider water uplift pressure ?
What I have in my mind is that if the water table level have increased, the water is allowed to move up from the sides of the isolated footings, hence no pressure is applied to the footing .. however this pressure could be applied to the slab on grade (if this water could reach the slab on grade).
Am I right ? Is there any close in the code that explain this situation ?
Thanks ..

I like to debate structural engineering theory -- a lot. If I challenge you on something, know that I'm doing so because I respect your opinion enough to either change it or adopt it.
