Odd question that I can't seem to find on Google.

Does anyone happen to know what percent Glycerin vs Water is in a typical liquid filled pressure gauge? I see that freezing point is best at about 2/3 glycerin so is this typical ratio?

RE: glycerin vs water ratio in a typical filled pressure gauge

It should be pure glycerin, as any water will promote corrosion. I had some old gages that were new in the box where the aluminum indicator needles dissolved.
