Hello All,

I'm new here and I hope I post this at the right place.

I need a way to determine how much torque can be delivered with a magnetic couple in relation to air gap (aluminum) has some one seen/know a simple solution for that? I have seen some papers and works in the field, but they are complex and before I delve into that I would like to find a simple answer.

Indeed, but the difference should only be by the permeability - a constant, I'm looking for a simple way for calculation.

If the air gap is made of aluminum, then there will be significant eddy current effects. There are no simple solutions for that situation.

What MagMike said. Conductive materials that are in the field of rotating or moving magnets carry additional effect than just a simple air gap. There are many cool videos on Youtube demonstrating eddy current effect.

It is better to have enough ideas for some of them to be wrong, than to be always right by having no ideas at all.
