CSA W186 Table 37

CSA W186 Table 37

CSA W186 Table 37

I am trying to find out the appropriate preheat temperature to preheat old rebar (with a CE of 0.48), to for welding. Does anyone have CSA W186 Table 37? I am told the information is in that table, although this Standard is from 1990.

RE: CSA W186 Table 37

I couldn't locate table 37 but I imagine that the info shown below is what you have in mind. I scanned through the document and it's got some really great stuff for the kind of connections that you're contemplating. I'd highly recommend picking up a copy. For what it's worth, there's definitely a one sided lap splice weld option. My bad.

I like to debate structural engineering theory -- a lot. If I challenge you on something, know that I'm doing so because I respect your opinion enough to either change it or adopt it.

to Kootk: ok, that is very helpful indeed. I have been working from home the last few days, but I expect that we have CSA W186 in the office library and will definitely take a look at it. From what year of W186 is that Table that you attached?
It seem that we do not have to specify preheat, since our CE i 0.48%.

Thanks for the very useful help. It is very much appreciated. You are a one man encyclopedia.

No sweat ajk1. We take care of our own 'round these parts. The clip was taken from the 1990 version, reaffirmed in 2007.

ok, thanks. You must not be from Toronto!
