Mahle WF series for Hot oil system

Hi,
I'm commissioning a gas plant and for heat medium using therminol 66 by eastman company. the problem is being faced is that mahle wound type filter element elements were found decomposed even temperature was only 125^0c.
Thus anyone can explain why filter elements are decomposed even delta pressure against filter was only 30 psig.
Thanks

RE: Mahle WF series for Hot oil system

We should check the process datasheet for this filter to see what the operating temperature specs are.

Hi,
Data sheet is saying these filter elements can operate upto 400^0c, in addition to this i heard tiny explosion at filter delta pressure 20 psig and temperature was 130^0c.
Hope you have more information for analysis.

May be they have given you the wrong type of filter - check the materials for the filter and try to get feedback from some other vendors on these materials.

Is there a mechanical warranty clause in the purchase order spec with this vendor ? - if so, they should fix this at no extra cost to your company.

Sounds like water in the system.

Good luck,
Latexman

Technically, the glass is always full - 1/2 air and 1/2 water.

Hi,
Elements fused like cotton, you can break it easily without any extra force applying.
Thanks
