REQUIREMENT OF NACE MATERIAL IN WET H2S SERVICE CLADED VESSEL

REQUIREMENT OF NACE MATERIAL IN WET H2S SERVICE CLADED VESSEL

(OP)

Hi all,

I am working on an equipment with wet H2S service, the vessel is claded inside with SS304L. Hence, HIC plate is not required for shell and heads. But, i would like to know what is the requirement for forgings and fittings which are weld overlayed?
As per wet H2S service requirement, the CS material shall comply with NACE MR0103 and TM0284, which inturn asks for normalised material for all the forgings and fittings.

Please let me know if i have to ask the vendor to provide normalised material??

Thanks in advance,
jagadish

RE: REQUIREMENT OF NACE MATERIAL IN WET H2S SERVICE CLADED VESSEL

Where does MR0103 demand only normalised carbon steel substrate material?

RE: REQUIREMENT OF NACE MATERIAL IN WET H2S SERVICE CLADED VESSEL

NACE MR0103 accepts Carbon Steel in Hot Rolled condition, not necessarily in heat treated condition (refer clause 2.1.2(c))
